The Department of Social Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in Business, with a preference for a specialization in one of the following areas: corporate social responsibility, sustainability, international business, rural business, and entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary department of more than twenty faculty members and will teach in the Bachelors of Management program with a stream in Business Economics. Applicants should possess (or be near completion of) an earned doctorate in Business or a related field.

Applicants should be interested in the continuing development of a teaching-oriented Management program and must possess a strong record of scholarly research and publications or demonstrate evidence of potential in these areas (e.g. a stream of work-in-progress that has the potential to yield publications in refereed journals). The successful candidate will maintain a strong research program in core management areas and will have experience/expertise to teach undergraduate courses in these aforementioned areas.

Die neu geschaffene Professur Kommunikations- und Medienwissenschaft mit dem Schwerpunkt Methodeninnovation befasst sich mit Phänomenen der Mediennutzung und Medienwirkung im sozialen Kontext. Von besonderem Interesse ist dabei die Anwendung der theoretischen Perspektive und des methodischen Instrumentariums der sozialen Netzwerkanalyse auf kommunikationswissenschaftliche Fragestellungen. Anwendungsfelder sind z.B. die Erforschung von verschiedenen Kommunikationsrollen (u.a. Meinungsführer) in On- und Offline-Netzwerken, Diffusionsprozesse von Technologien und Medieninhalten, kognitive Wissensnetzwerke, methodische Herausforderungen der angewandten Mediennutzungsforschung und die Evaluation von Kommunikationskampagnen.

Arbeitsschwerpunkte:

  • Mitarbeit in der Creative Unit „Kommunikative Figurationen“, einschließlich der Beantragung von Drittmittelprojekten
  • Mitwirkung in der Lehre (insb. Methodenausbildung)
  • Publikationen und Konferenzteilnahmen

Anforderungsprofil:

  • Überdurchschnittlicher Abschluss eines Hochschulstudiums in Kommunikations- und Medienwissenschaft oder einer angrenzende Disziplin (insb. Psychologie, Soziologie, Politologie, Kommunikationstechnologien/Informatik)
  • Fundierte Methoden- und Statistikausbildung
  • Gute Kenntnisse von Statistik- und Analysesoftware
  • Vorkenntnisse bzw. hohes Interesse an der sozialen Netzwerkanalyse
  • Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift

Peking University: Assistant/Associate/Full Professorship in Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management

Peking University is one of the most prestigious universities in mainland China and has a tradition of producing top scholars and leaders in many fields. The Department of Organization and Management is accepting applications for a tenure-track ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE / FULL Professor position in the area of Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management. The appointment begins in August, 2014. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate, MBA, and PhD level courses in OB, HR/IR, Research Methods, etc.

Qualified applicants for this position should have a Ph.D. degree in Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management from an accredited AACSB business school or other related fields from prestigious universities, completed no later than August, 2014. Cornell University: Assistant and Associate Professor Human Resource Studies

The Human Resource Studies department of the ILR School at Cornell University has an opportunity to add two new faculty members beginning August of 2014. One opening is at the assistant professor level, while the other is at the associate or full professor level. At the assistant professor level, preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated potential to publish high-quality research in human resource studies and to teach HR courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

At the associate and full professor levels, preference will be given to tenure-qualified applicants whose work tends to take a strategic or organizational (i.e., macro) perspective of the field. We are seeking candidates with strong records of publications in top-tier journals in areas such as (but not limited to): untangling relationships between workplace practices and contexts and important stakeholder outcomes, emerging new approaches to work and employment relationships, human and social capital issues related to firm performance, international and comparative HRM, and the evolving role of the HR function. Particularly well-qualified applicants at the associate and full professor level will be considered for a chaired appointment as the William J. Conaty GE Professor of Strategic Human Resources.

At the time of appointment, applicants must possess a PhD in relevant disciplines, such as human resource studies, industrial and labor relations, work and employment, business strategy, organization theory, organizational behavior, I/O psychology, sociology, or economics. Université catholique de Louvain (UCL): Post-doc fellowships

The FSR (Fonds spéciaux de recherche) incoming post-doc fellowships of the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) are offered to scientists of all nationalities in order to strengthen the bilateral S&T collaborations as well as the realization of the European Research Area. They are assigned to researchers with a PhD degree (or equivalent), proving their expertise and research capacity by a personal scientific record. The fellowships, granted for a stay lasting between 12 to 24 months in one of the UCL research units, concern all fields of research activities dealt with by the UCL.

West Texas A&M University: Assistant Professor of Management

The College of Business at West Texas A&M University invites applications for two vacant positions at the rank of assistant professor of management available August 2014. West Texas A&M University is located on a 170-acre campus in Canyon, Texas with two additional support center facilities in neighboring Amarillo, Texas. University enrollment is approximately 8,000 students, which includes approximately 1,000 undergraduate and 350 graduate students in the AACSB-Accredited College of Business.

The tenure-track position includes teaching, research, and service responsibilities. Typical teaching load is three courses (two preparations) per semester with additional compensation possible for summer teaching. Salary is competitive with other AACSB business programs with a mission focus that balances both teaching and research.

Doctorate degree in management or a closely related field by August 2014 is required. The desired candidate should have a teaching field in one or more of the following: Strategic Management, Project Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Conflict Management, or Leadership. The successful candidate must demonstrate commitment to quality teaching and scholarly activity consistent with AACSB accreditation. Candidates should have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, initiative, and the ability to work in a student-centered environment. Marquette University in Milwaukee: Tenure-Track Position in Organizational Behavior

Over the last decade, academic researchers have shown a strong interest in executive management teams, as their members are the most influential corporate decision-makers and largely determine various external (e.g. strategic direction, firm performance) and internal (e.g. leadership style, organizational structure) outcomes. The special issue aims to advance our theoretical and empirical understanding of the composition of executive management teams, the interplay of different actors, and the impact of contextual settings.
