The Robinson College of Business seeks applications and nominations for multiple tenure track faculty positions at multiple ranks in the area of Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management. At least one position will be filled at the level of Associate or Full Professor. Successful candidates will begin employment in August, 2014.

The Department of Managerial Sciences has many outstanding faculty colleagues with research and teaching interests that represent the different facets of Management including Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Business Analysis, and Operations Management. The Department is also affiliated with the Beebe Institute of Personnel and Employment Relations, a multidisciplinary institute dedicated to supporting research and education in the area of People at Work and to promoting outreach to the local professional community. Our faculty members are enthusiastically engaged in research and regularly publish in the top journals in their disciplines, hold leadership positions in professional associations and sit on the editorial boards of top journals. They are also engaged with colleagues in other units of the College, the University, and neighboring universities in the Atlanta area in a variety of professional activities to form an involved community of scholars The city of Atlanta provides an excellent setting for someone with interests in Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management with 13 Fortune 500 companies headquartered in the metropolitan area along with a number of regional headquarters, a large number of regional, national and global enterprises, and a vibrant entrepreneurial community. Georgia State has strong ties with the Atlanta business community, many of whom are alumni of the College.

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in a relevant field from an AACSB accredited university and a current record of scholarly publications consistent with rank, as well as a demonstrated ability or high potential for teaching within Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management. Individuals applying for a senior level position are expected to be eminent scholars with an international scholarly reputation; willingness and ability to mentor junior faculty members and PhD students are expected as well, and interest in and capability to contribute to executive programs is a plus. The College expects and strongly supports faculty research leading to publication in top tier journals. Collegiality and a demonstrated ability to develop and work with others to define and conduct research are important at all ranks. The positions include teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels in the College’s academic programs. Salary, teaching loads, and other types of support are competitive with other research universities. These positions are contingent upon final budget approval by the University.

The Management & Entrepreneurship Department at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business invites applications for tenure-track position appointments in the areas of strategic management, international management, and organizational behavior/human resource management. Preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level, but applicants at other ranks may also be considered. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in the area of the appointment (i.e., strategic management, international management, or organizational behavior/human resource management) or in a related field. Additionally, applicants must have a strong research and teaching record in the area of the appointment, and preference will be given to applicants with strong secondary research and teaching interests in the entrepreneurship area. Research productivity is expected and supported.

Baylor University: Tenure-Track Positions in Organizational Behavior or Human Resource Management

The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University invites application for two tenure-track positions in Organizational Behavior or Human Resource Management. One position is anticipated to teach organizational behavior, and one to teach negotiation.

Successful candidates must have evidence of the following:

1. Completion of a Ph.D. or ABD with dissertation defended by July, 2014

2. A record of research or emerging research that includes publication in leading academic journals

3. Evidence of teaching excellence in the areas of organizational behavior, negotiation, leadership, or introduction to management.

4. Though quality research in any area is acceptable, individuals with a program of research that would complement existing OB/HR faculty are especially encouraged to apply. In particular, we are interested in individuals doing work in the areas of: negotiation, leadership, work-family balance, or ethics.

California State University: Tenure-Track in Organizational Behavior

Position

California State University, Fullerton, seeks tenure-track faculty for Fall 2014 in Organizational Behavior with emphasis in either Leadership or Human Resource Management. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate/graduate classes in OB, Leadership, or HR; scholarly and creative activities which result in publication of highquality refereed journal articles; departmental and University service, and student advisement.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have completed by August 10, 2014 all requirements for a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) with specialty in OB, Leadership, or HR from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students and faculty is required.
  • Evidence/potential for publications in high quality journals is expected.
  • Experience as an effective teacher is highly preferred.
  • Teaching and research interest/experience in a secondary area such as cross-cultural management, organizational development, teams, industrial relations, collective bargaining, or personnel selection is desirable.
  • Business experience is desirable.

The Department

The management department has 20 tenured and tenure-track faculty supplemented by several part-time and full-time adjunct faculty. Tenure-track faculty members publish their research in journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management Journal, Decision Sciences, among others. The department houses three active centers of excellence – The Center for Leadership, the Entrepreneurship Center and the Family Business Center – which provide opportunities for exposure to business organizations and potential collaborations.

Martha and Spencer Love School of Business: HR Assistant or Associate Professor (Tenure-Track)

The Martha and Spencer Love School of Business (LSB) invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant or associate professor in human resource management for Fall 2014. The individual selected will guide the development of a strong human resource management career track for the school and will also teach in a secondary area in the management discipline. The successful applicant will seek to personify Elon’s teacher/scholar model by being an effective undergraduate teacher who values mentoring students, and by having a well-established research agenda. Faculty members in the LSB are also expected to teach in the MBA program and Elon’s General Studies Program. Previous industry experience is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates who possess an earned doctorate in human resource management from an AACSB-accredited university.
