Open Call for Papers: Managementforschung

Weitere Informationen zum Open Call for Papers finden Sie hier. Die MF veröffentlicht seit 2016 angenommene Beiträge vorab online. Trust is the currency that creates markets. This is knowledge of the merchants at the latest since modern markets have emerged along the medieval trade routes. Quality and reliability in the business are also building blocks of trust and the assumption of responsibility for the social and ecological consequences of entrepreneurial activity. Whether the latter should be integrated into social and legal relations and norms in the form of voluntary corporate responsibility, has been the subject of economic discussion since the beginnings of the discipline and since the separation of the spheres of economic and moral action in the Scottish moral economy.

Deadline for submission of seminar abstracts: 28.02.2017.

CfP: Special Issue of the German Journal of Human Resource Management (HRM in Family Firms)

The German Journal of Human Resource Management (Zeitschrift für Personalforschung) is seeking for proposals for a Special Issue. We invite submissions that are conceptual, empirical (qualitative or quantitative, or mixed) or methodological in nature. The focus of the papers may include but is not limited to:

  • Practices of HRM in family firms
  • HRM and family firm growth, development and change
  • HR managers and practitioners in family firms
  • Theory of HRM in family firms

We welcome submissions that take the unique characteristics of family firms into account and that move beyond the idea of one-size-fits-all ‘best practices’ by addressing how family firms develop HR practices, take advantage of them, and bundle their practices into HR systems. By exploring these areas we hope to sharpen the theoretical underpinnings of the debate on HRM in family firms. Moreover, we seek to contribute to an understanding of if/how family firms use HR practices to proactively address environmental dynamics, demographic change or innovation.

Deadline for the submission of extended abstracts: 31.10.2017

CfP: 10th International Conference in Critical Management Studies 2017 (Sub-theme: Implications and consequences of employee share ownership on corporate governance)

The focuses of this sub-theme at the 10th International Conference in Critical Management Studies 2017 (which will take place during July 3-5) are implications and consequences of employee share ownership on corporate governance. The sub-theme aims to advance our empirical and theoretical knowledge about organizational ways of employee involvement at the corporate governance level of firms and its interaction with already existing institutions of employee participation in the decision making and control of firms, and to learn about the behavior of this particular type of employee participation, of different stakeholder groups, and of individuals in such contexts in different institutional and national settings. We invite theoretical as well as empirical studies based on qualitative and/or quantitative methods that focus on the various forms of employee owners’ individual and collective actions.
