Job vacancy at Paderborn University

The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics is seeking to fill the following position W1- Junior Professorship (f/m/d) in International Management with Tenure Track (W 2).
The employment is initially for three years in the civil service relationship. After a positive interim evaluation, the employment relationship will be extended by a further three years; after a successful final evaluation, the assumption of a lifetime professorship is promised.

The successful candidate has taught International Management at university level and ideally has published in international scholarly journals. Their field of research is in one or several areas of international management (including business systems and institutions), preferably focusing on more strategic topics such as global aspects of organisation, entrepreneurship or business development. The tenure track opens up the opportunity to be appointed to a W2-professorship in International Management in the future. The Junior Professorship is part of the Department “Management”, which offers a research environment that focuses on more quantitative methodologies applying analytical, empirical and experimental methods. The candidate is expected to work in and contribute to joint research projects including the De-partment’s evolving research programme in “Unternehmertum”. The candidate teaches various modules in International Management in the International Business Studies (IBS) programmes at bachelor and master level as well as in other programmes such as Management (M.Sc.). While the teaching language is English, the candidate should also be fluent in Ger-man. The courses cover international management as well as comparative institutions. The IBS programs focus on particular languages. Therefore, it is of advantage that the candidate has some expertise in the business institutions of English-, French- or Spanish-speaking countries.

Hiring requirements: The candidate has reached a completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude and outstanding Ph.D. degree in the last 5 years and ideally has published research in international journals. Additional § 37 Abs. 2 HG NRW (University Law of the State of NRW).
