Call for Papers
The
5. French-German Talks in Law and Economics
will take place December 4th and 5th, 2009 at Trier. This conference is the sixth annual workshop of the Gesellschaft für Recht und Ökonomik (German Law and Economics Association).
Papers from all fields of Law and Economics are welcome. However, priority will be given to papers which, in the tradition of earlier workshops of the series, discuss legal phenomena specific to continental-European law, with or without corresponding phenomena in US law. Papers on EU-law and on national law have equal priority. Economic analysis may both be normative or positive. Labour law analyses, perhaps even comparative analyses are particularly welcome.
Younger researchers are especially encouraged to present their work in front of more experienced Law and Economics scholars. The conference language is English.
The deadline for the submission of paper proposals is July 15, 2009. If you want to present your work, please email a PDF version of your paper (or an abstract of at least two pages) to sadowski@iaaeg.de
Please do not forget to include the authors‘ names and affiliations, the name of the prospective presenter, and the postal as well as the email address of the corresponding author. Acceptance decisions will be communicated by the end of August.
The final version of the complete paper is due November 1st. Regardless of whether they present a paper or not, all participants are asked to indicate their willingness to serve as a commentator.
The venue of the workshop will be the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations at the University of Trier. Hotels in Trier are not expensive, but good. As last year, it may be possible to have some of these costs covered by sponsors, in particular for younger researchers.
In August, the conference homepage will be launched, providing further information. The accepted papers will be made available for download on this homepage. After the conference, the revised papers can be included into the German Working Papers in Law and Economics at Berkeley Electronic Press.
I look forward to meeting you at Trier, the most ancient German town, located at the river Moselle, very close to Luxembourg and France!
