The Journal of Business Economics (JBE) aims at encouraging research in the field of business economics and business administration. Contributions should be based on a general approach to the theory of the firm. Besides original theoretical and empirical work, excellent state of the art contributions of these topics will also be considered. To further internationalize the journal, it will begin to exclusively handle English-language contributions as of April 1st, 2012. As of January 1st, 2013, the JBE will only be published in English, although it will still carry the German subtitle „Zeitschrift für Betriebswirtschaft“. The goal is to create an international publication platform, allowing its publications and their authors to become internationally recognized.
